We recycle unwanted shelter dogs into wonderful pets!

Marshall is an interesting guy! He came to us in very sad shape, very sick, missing a lot of hair, very lethargic. But Marshall has done remarkably well with good food, good vet care, and lots of TLC! He has a thyroid condition and takes daily medication for that as well as a low dose steroid for his skin allergies.

He had tested positive for lyme disease (from ticks) when he was first taken to the vet by the shelter. He was treated with doxycycline and got the all-clear to be ready for adoption now that he has gained weight, been on his thyroid medication, and his hair has come back (he eats a limited ingredient food (duck and potato) to help with the skin also).

Marshall must have been loved once – he was neutered when he came into the shelter, which is very unusual for this particular shelter. All we can imagine is that he got lost and his condition deteriorated while he was on his own. Marshall is fine with other dogs and with cats too. He LOVES to play with other dogs and longs for a playmate!

Hattie is ready to start meeting potential forever families! She’s estimated to be around 7-8 years old and weighs 17 pounds. Hattie may take some time to warm up and settle in, initially appearing a bit withdrawn. She isn’t aggressive, just disinterested at first.

When Hattie arrived at the shelter, she was very matted, so the shelter staff had her shaved down. Initially, she looked like a super cute little terrier, but after grooming, she resembled a beagle! We don’t know much about her background, whether she had been on her own for a long time or was simply neglected.

Hattie is gradually learning how to be a dog and making great progress! She’s just started seeking out attention from her foster mom, and she enjoys it. She’s living with other dogs, cats, and kids in her foster home and has been getting along fine.

Hattie may become shy and withdrawn again when she is adopted, so she needs a patient family willing to give her the time she needs to come out of her shell.

Tori is about 3-4 years old. She spent several months at a local shelter before the shelter realized she was pregnant and asked for rescue help. She gave birth to 10 puppies, but sadly, over the course of several weeks, all but one of her puppies died. Tori was a good mom but the vet thinks she was just so malnourished and emaciated that she couldn’t sustain her puppies and even with bottle feeding they couldn’t thrive. Tori loves tennis balls!

She is a fun dog – she has been fine with the other well-balanced dogs in her foster foster home. No cats or small dogs for Tori. She appears to be both house and crate trained. She can be reactive to other dogs in the crate when other dogs walk by at her foster home or at adoption events but she meets them well on leash and has been fine with most other dogs she has met. She is extremely cuddly and loving. She is still learning to walk like a lady on a leash – it’s new for her and she does pull.

Tori loves ice cream and car rides! Tori also loves belly rubs and cuddling and giving hugs. She’s a wiggle butt! Our breed mix is our best guess based on appearance but we also recognize that she may have some pit bull or other bully breed in her (or that others will think she does) so we will not be able to place Tori any place with breed restrictions that may affect her ability to live there safely. A home visit is required.
